What is iHerb?
For those who are new, iHerb is a US-based site that ships to Hong Kong. You can find lots of groceries, supplements, skin care and makeup at wholesale prices. They ship to Hong Kong via international airmail, DHL, or UPS at very affordable rates and with short delivery times. I have been buying stuff from iHerb since 2010.

WHY BUY FROM IHERB IF YOU’RE IN HONG KONG?
If you love bargains, you’ll love iHerb. Made-in-USA health and beauty products are usually overpriced in Hong Kong so I get all of mine from iHerb. The same goes for sports and nutrition products, organic grocery, vitamin, and supplements. Also, when you get these directly from the US, you’re getting a much fresher product than the one found in HK stores.
HOW MUCH IS SHIPPING AND HOW LONG DOES DELIVERY TAKE?
The shipping charges are very cheap and sometimes, iHerb run promotions where they offer free delivery to Hong Kong for purchases above a certain amount (usually $40).
International Airmail to Hong Kong starts from $4 or around HK$31 but unless you have a very small order, it’s usually better to ship with DHL. International Airmail takes about 1 to 2 weeks.
DHL Express to Hong Kong usually costs about $8 for my orders but it depends on how much you’re buying and your overall shipment’s weight. There is also usually a discount on DHL shipping if you buy $40 worth of products. Shipping with DHL takes about 5 days most of the time.
UPS shipping is not worth looking at. It’s more expensive than the other two options and the delivery time isn’t faster than DHL. Not sure why it’s even offered as an option.

IS IHERB ALWAYS CHEAPER?
Most of the time, iHerb is cheaper than if you buy locally in Hong Kong. However, sometimes you might have to compare prices a little. This is especially so for heavier stuff such as whey protein. You’ll want to wait until there’s a free shipping promotion to buy heavy stuff but generally, you’ll find most of the products on iHerb cheaper.
IS IT SAFE TO PURCHASE FROM IHERB?
Yup! Never had a problem purchasing from them. In my years of buying from them, they have never lost a single parcel. I’ve only had one or two products damaged in the box (possibly due to courier’s fault) out of the hundreds of products I’ve bought and iHerb has refunded the price of the damaged item every single time.
